COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

Digital CEDS™

The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) presents its 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as a roadmap for regional growth, resilience, and innovation. Beyond meeting federal requirements for linking projects to U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) funding, the CEDS serves as a living document—updated annually and fully reassessed every five years—to reflect evolving priorities.

The 2025 CEDS builds on prior efforts, including the 2019 CEDS, MOVE2046, BRAC Annual Reports, Louisiana’s 2025 Statewide Strategic Plan, and watershed initiatives such as Region 7 and the Amite River Basin Master Plan. By drawing on these resources and modern data tools, CRPC identified shared goals and strategies for sustainable development.

For the first time in Louisiana, CRPC is delivering a fully digital CEDS with interactive dashboards powered by StateBook. This innovation enables real-time tracking of baseline data, transparency in progress, and stronger community engagement. The planning process brought together diverse stakeholders in a SWOT analysis to shape regional priorities and foster collaboration.

CRPC will continue stakeholder engagement and adapt strategies as conditions change- especially as watershed planning advances—to strengthen the prosperity and resilience of the Capital Region.
