COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Digital CEDS™
The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) offers its 2019 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as a blueprint/roadmap for understanding our current regional economy and its potential for growth and innovation based on enhanced regional collaboration. The CEDS plugs regional projects into possible EDA funding. Beyond this operational requirement, the intention is that the regional CEDS will continue as a living document that reflects ongoing regional needs and aspirations, is adjusted annually, and reevaluated fully every five years.
The CEDS planning process offers an opportunity to build regional leadership and collaboration and to foster public support and enthusiasm. The 2019 CEDS planning process brought together diverse stakeholders, public and private, to participate in a SWOT analysis and to consider key economic issues and goals for the region. This update also builds on a solid foundation of shared regional knowledge and experience gained through previous planning and implementation efforts. These include CRPC’s 2014 CEDS and 2017 Metropolitan Transportation Plan MOVE2042, as well as Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce Annual Reports, and the CRISIS Mobility Report.
