  • We have an antiquated criminal justice system and legacy poverty which leads to poor literacy and labor force participation rates
  • Urban-Suburban-Rural Economic Divide; Long worker commutes; High Housing + Transportation costs
  • With a stressed economy, most firms will merely be surviving and not have funds for expansion or innovation
  • Going green, reducing carbon footprint often requires up front purchase of infrastructure that pays off in the long run. Also relying more on technology doesn’t mean that customers always embrace it- we have a range of education levels in BR.

  • Expansion of low and middle skill jobs with living wages
  • Creating workforce development pipeline that starts from k-12 to technical college identifying certifications that provide head of household wages
  • We can work together in all areas to improve our community.
  • Extend basic utilities (power, water, sewer, drainage) to aid economic development and improve resilience
  • The structure of political divisions need to be addressed to provide stronger positive relationships.
